Dear Students,

This is to inform that there have been a series of discussions held with the Students Representatives Council, International Students Society and groups of students in addition to the dialogue session held with students on 3rd March 2011 at the Dewan Seri Sarjana, which are all part of UNITEN’s Management’s continuous engagement with students. In that respect, UNITEN Management Council are pleased to inform that, after taking into consideration the welfare and security of students in UNITEN apartments, the following actions have been implemented :-

1.      UNITEN will bear the RM40.00 initially preloaded in the prepaid meter (please refer to the circular sent on 8th March 2011 )

2.      The electricity tariff will be reduced by about 15% from RM0.397/kwh to RM0.340/kwh with effect from 8th March 2011 (please refer to the circular sent on 8th March 2011 )

3.      Discussion will be held with TNB on the reduction of the overall tariff for students accommodation
4.      Library has been opened 24 hours for students to prepare for their coming semester examination

5.      Potholes will be covered in our campus road

6.      An additional parking space adjacent to BN parking area will be opened to students (from May Semester)

7.      A security guard house has been located behind MURNI

8.      Security at MURNI has been enhanced by stationing extra guards

9.      All perimeter lightings & spotlights are now in working condition

10.  Small barbed wires have been installed at the piping from level 1 to level 2 to prevent intruders from climbing up into students apartments at MURNI

11.  Installation of additional locks to the balcony at MURNI apartments up to Level 4 have been installed

12.  All corridor lightings are in working condition

13.  CCTV will be installed behind MURNI (and possibly AMANAH) and for which the procurement process are on-going

14.  Latches for padlock will be installed either at students cupboards or room doors in all UNITEN apartments to avoid cases of theft (though we are seeking advise from BOMBA on padlocking the room doors, as to whether it is in compliance with safety requirements)

15.  Perimeter fencing between I5 and I4 will be enhanced

We take this opportunity to also inform our students that UNITEN Management Council will continue to upgrade the facilities provided in campus for the benefit of UNITEN’s students and staff.

kalau tgk dari sudut lain ... mcm parti politik nak amik hati rakyat. BCoz bulan 5 new intake. takot tiada student nak masok coz byk sgt cter pasal uniten .. xD
